NEW DATE: June 3rd, 2021, at Noon Pacific.
Join Howard Hu, MD, MPH, ScD, Flora L. Thornton Chair of the Department of Preventive Medicine, for a discussion of the unmet potential for repurposing existing therapeutics for the progression of early COVID-19 infections to severe disease and death as part of the global strategy to reduce the pandemic’s impacts. The issue has taken on new urgency given the limited availability of vaccines in many low-income countries and the emergence of certain viral variants that demonstrate resistance to some vaccines. This event is the first in a series presented by the USC COVID-19 Pandemic Research Center. (https://cprc.usc.edu/)
